12 Steps to Recover from Colonized Thinking

~ The aim of RCT is to provide people a process for changing how they've been taught to think and behave matriarchy which fosters equity vs patriarchy which fosters inequality, i.e., classism, sexism, and racism. The 12 step process, if followed, has been proven to begin to change how one thinks and behaves in 90 days. To promote permanent change, this 12 step program includes New Way of Thinking (NWT) classes to correct the lies patriarchy has spread around the world. The 12-18 month classes include 1) Understanding the two primary global cultures, matriarchy and patriarchy, 2) Understanding the system of racism/white supremacy, and 3) Pre-Columbus-colonial African History.

You’ve spent 12 plus years being educated by white scholars in the white man’s school system and you still don’t have the answers.  So, why not try ‘your’ Black scholars…from #PanAfrican to #Afrocentricity…?

And, don’t stop til’ you get 12 years +  of Black education to counter the 12 years + of white miseducation you’ve internalized.  Then, each one teach one.

The House Was Full At The ARC…Following Tempie Satcher, The Founder of Ladies of Life, I Ended Up At A Play In Recognition of Domestic Violence Month, ‘Then Sing My Soul’

A brief October meeting before the play...

A brief October meeting before the play…

Tempie Satcher, founder of Ladies of Life, our suicide prevention group

Tempie Satcher, founder of Ladies of Life, our suicide prevention group

It was a serious, engaging, moving, emotionally charged, intense play. From my (conscious) Afrocentric perspective, the play’s messages were clear:

  • (European) patriarchal society teaches Black men to dominate and control women, i.e., be King of your castle , control your woman…make her do what you say
  • Black men are angry, angry, angry and don’t know it’s because they’er oppressed…24/7 by American society…walking while Black, driving while Black, looking police in the eye while Black, running while Black, …just being Black (see CBC.com reports: http://bit.ly/1PSzNPh Black seeks asylum in Canada)
  • Black men take their anger out on the person closes to them, their woman

The solutions, per my African consciousness:

  • healing support groups are invaluable for men, who abuse and women, who’er abused
  • learn that this is a European, patriarchal society and that the primary tenet of this culture is  ‘domination and control’, meaning, men dominate women and children and rich (white) men (Donald Trump) dominate poor (white) men…that’s everybody
  • learn that the primary tenet of African / Black culture is Ubuntu, humanness, ‘ l am because you are’… ‘I recognize your humanness and am obligated to respond humanly’

For an Afrocentric person such as myself, it’s significant that the play was written, produced, directed and performed by Blacks….to me, that mean jobs by and for Blacks.

I want to thank Tempie for inviting me; I didn’t know where she was taking me but asking no questions, just followed, did as I was told and ended up in a great space…enjoyed myself tremendously.

Killer Still At Large…”System of Racism/White Supremacy”

Originally, Was a The System of Domination & Control: Wealthy White Men Oppressed Their Women & Poor White Men Before They Encountered Black People, But They Did, They Oppressed Us, Too

Replace ‘capitalism’ with ‘non-hierarchical, communialism’.  What is ‘communalism’?  It originated in Black Africa and is STILL practiced in places where people live traditionally per minimal contact with European hierarchical culture that dominates and controls people (will research & provide names of some groups later).

For your study, see the following scholars and/or works:

Diop's Book

Diop is the primary scholar because he disproved white scholars; he proved that Egypt is in Africa, that the people of Egypt were/are Black, and that Black culture (characterized by equality of sexes, communal, interdependence, & cooperation) is different from white culture (sexist, hierarchical, independence, & competition).  Not an easy read so here is a link to a pretty good summation… http://bit.ly/1QOhNHn.

Other works that further expound on the difference of thetwo cultures include…don’t read, scan to answer the questions:

How similar is what’s presented similar to how Blacks lived here in the US before integration?
Before humans knew about the sperm and egg…only knew that women gave birth, why is it understandable they God initially viewed as a woman…when and who changed the image from female to male?
How did Columbus describe people who lived ‘communally’…was Columbus’ worldview…based on violence, domination & control or not?

When did whites stop respecting the Africa worldview and when & where was racism formally codified?
How does white culture actualize racism/white supremacy? How can whites stop?

Once we’re clear on culture we’re better be able to understand racism, it’s origin, and how it impacts our lives…10 life areas: education, entertainment, political/economics, health, labor, law, religion, sex/relationships, & war (amended F.Welsing’s areas)… AND, KNOW HOW TO COUNTER, NEUTRALIZE, ERADICATE IT and, know what to expect of whites.

REAL…African American Experts On African American Culture & People

Some of them may have actually interacted with Dubois’,  Malcolm’s, KwAme Nkrumah’s, Carter G. Woodson’s but surly did Diop, John H. Clarke, etc.

My point, like white America, we need to develop our own criteria for who are our ‘experts’ based upon their history.  Rachel D   , dispite her ‘Toxic Charity’ attempts of helping, she doesn’t qualify to enter the room with ‘our’ experts like PTricia Newton,  Dick Gregory,  Tony Browder,  France’s Welsing, Claude Anderson, or Umar Johnson.

…come see them for yourself, this Saturday, at Union Temple Baptist Chruch…1225 W. St., SE, DC.  Sat Jun 20th 1-6 PM

Dr. Patricia A. Newton…coined term, Post Traumatic Slavery Disorder (youtube). She graduated from the Washington University School of Medicine in 1975. She works in Baltimore, MD and specializes in Psychiatry and Public Health & General Preventive Medicine. Dr. Newton is affiliated with Greater Baltimore Medical Center.
His name speaks for itself
Anthony (Tony) Browder

Frances Cress Welsing, is an afrocentrist fringe psychiatrist who with her 1970 essay: the Cress Theory of Color-Confrontation and Racism, offered her interpretation on the origins of white supremacy culture in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Claud Anderson is president of PowerNomics Corporation of America, Inc. and The Harvest Institute. PowerNomics is a package of principles and strategies that explain “race” and offer a guide for Black America to become a more self-sufficient and economically competitive group in America.
…youngest of the group but mentored by ‘our’ elders….

If She Applied For The Job Along With’The Rest Of U’s, Who’d Get It?

White Skin Privilege Gets The Job

She’s an expert on African-American culture, didn’t she know about ‘white’ or ‘light’skin privilege and ‘colorism’?  Didn’t she know ‘white skin privilege’ would get her the job? Or, didn’t she care?

And, worse, she’s said to be an ‘academic expert on African-American culture’…well, compared to whom?

The PREEMINENT African American scholars on Africa, Ancient African Culture and African Americans, etc. like the following…to name a few…who I have never seen referred to as an ‘academic expert on African-American culture’.  Why?  CULTURAL GENOCIDE???

And, finally, where is her research…her academic papers?  …the audacity of her and the NAACP… who should know who the experts are on African American culture?  But, since they obviously don’t…see the following:

Carter Godwin Woodson was an African-American historian, author, journalist and the founder of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History. Woodson was one of the first scholars to study African-American history.
Chancellor James Williams was an African-American sociologist, historian and writer. He is noted for his work on African civilizations prior to encounters with Europeans; his major work is The Destruction of Black Civilization.
Cheikh Anta Diop

John Henrik Clarke, was a Pan-Africanist writer, historian, professor, and a pioneer in the creation of Africana studies and professional institutions in academia starting in the late 1960s.
